In-depth review

The Hercules DS561B is a floor stand for bassoon and bass clarinet. Its height adjusts between 670 and 1010 mm, and the base rest adapts to either instrument and can face towards or away from the stand. The legs swivel and lock in place with a locking pin: press it and the stand folds down to 16 × 16 × 64 cm.

A stand lets you leave the bassoon assembled during breaks and rehearsals, rather than resting it on a chair or the floor, where it is more easily knocked. Given its folded size and weight, it tends to be a practical option both at home and for taking to lessons or concerts.
