How to turn them on on each device

iPhone and iPad

On iPhone and iPad, the site has to be added to the Home Screen first, from whichever browser is used. Then turn them on from the site menu.

By browser

Safari on iPhone and iPad
  1. Tap Share. If it is not in the bar, tap the icon to the left of the address (or press and hold the address) or the “···” button, depending on the version.

  2. Choose “Add to Home Screen”. If it is not there, scroll down or tap “View More”.

  3. Leave “Open as Web App” on (if shown) and tap “Add”.

  4. Open El Mundo Fagotero from the new icon on the Home Screen.

  5. Open the menu and turn on “Notifications”. Then choose “Allow”.

On iPhone and iPad, notifications only arrive with the site opened from the Home Screen, whatever the browser.

Chrome on iPhone and iPad
  1. Tap the Share button on the right of the address bar.

  2. Choose “Add to Home Screen”. If it is not there, scroll down or tap “View More”.

  1. Look for the browser’s Share option. If it has no “Add to Home Screen”, open the site in Safari and follow its steps.

  2. Choose “Add to Home Screen”. If it is not there, scroll down or tap “View More”.

  4. Open El Mundo Fagotero from the new icon on the Home Screen.

Inside Instagram, TikTok or other apps
  1. Tap the “···” menu in the corner of the screen.

If they are blocked

Unblock them in the iPhone and iPad app
  1. On the iPhone: Settings › Notifications › El Mundo Fagotero, and turn on “Allow Notifications”.

  2. Reload the page and turn notifications on from the menu.

Android

On Android they work straight away in Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge and Opera, with nothing to install: just turn them on from the menu.

Other cases

Inside Instagram, TikTok or other apps
  1. Tap the “···” menu in the corner of the screen.

  2. Try Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Samsung Internet in a normal window.

Install the app on Android
  1. Chrome on Android: “⋮” menu › “Add to Home screen” › “Install”.

If they are blocked

Unblock them in Chrome (Android)
  1. Tap the icon to the left of the address, then “Permissions” › “Notifications” and choose “Allow”.

  2. If they still do not arrive: phone Settings › Apps › the browser › Notifications.

  3. Reload the page and turn notifications on from the menu.

Unblock them in Samsung Internet
  1. Menu › Settings › Sites and downloads › Notifications, and allow elmundofagotero.com.

  2. Reload the page and turn notifications on from the menu.

Unblock them in Firefox (Android)
  1. Tap the padlock next to the address and allow notifications.

  2. If they still do not arrive: phone Settings › Apps › the browser › Notifications.

  3. Reload the page and turn notifications on from the menu.

Computer

On a computer they work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari (Mac), with nothing to install.

Other cases

Brave
  1. Open Brave Settings and go to “Privacy and security”.

  1. In Safari: Safari › Settings › Websites › Notifications, and choose “Allow” for elmundofagotero.com.

  2. Reload the page and turn notifications on from the menu.

Compatible browsers

Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Samsung Internet on Android and computers; Safari on Mac; on iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.4 or later), any browser after adding the site to the Home Screen. Brave, with a setting. They do not work in apps' built-in browsers or in private windows.

Other ways to follow the site

Without notifications, new articles arrive via RSS and score videos on the YouTube channel.

How they work

  • At most one notification a day per topic. If several things are published at once, they come together in one.

  • Never between midnight and 8:00 (Spanish time): anything published at night arrives at 8:00.

  • They are turned on per device: your phone and your computer each have their own settings.

  • No cookies: only the address the browser assigns to notifications, the topics and the language are stored. No name, email or IP address.
